Wow – releasing that EP felt good, and the party was so fun we had to take about a week to recover. Now that we’ve gotten back our bearings: THANK YOU – for making it out to the show, for buying and downloading the new songs, for checking out our T-shirts, for telling your friends and getting them involved and excited about us, and for all of your encouragement over the last few months as we put in long hours to get this thing out into the world.
And special thanks to the people who helped us along the way: the bands who played with us, for rocking – The Active Set, The Break-Ups and The Christopher Walkins; Pauline at Pehrspace, for her help for setting up and arranging the evening; Joe, Robin, Brian and Taylor for playing with us; Michael Eisenstein, for Michaeling (I mean, mixing, and adding that special Michael touch); Adam for the usual and Leah for making food; and Angie Craft, for practical and technical support, guidance, and for being there whenever we’ve needed you. We don’t thank you enough.
And now that we’ve made our thanks and our baby’s out in the world, Tim and I are doing our best as parents to help it grow. And that takes a lot of work. But at the risk of dragging this analogy towards unnecessary visuals of diaper changes and 2 a.m. bottle-feedings, let’s just say . . . we’re still busy. We’ve got a lot of shows in the works, including a great one at Juanita’s in Highland Park on Tuesday, April 21, with our friends Cola-Cola and the premiere of future rock icons Ingenue, who were also produced by our good friend Michael Eisenstein. And then – we’re shooting for the Bay!
Also, if you haven’t checked out our interview on IsGoodMusic, hop over to our profile there. Big thanks to Jon Hershfield for his continued love and support – “Dance Serene” made Song of the Week over there right after its debut!
That’s all for this . . . day. Coming up: Video and pictures from the show, and if Tim and I have time, an informative how-to on making your own THTG soup can shakers, which were a big hit at the EP show (and wonderfully noisy).
You rock.
Melissa (and Tim)

This is it! The last newsletter before our Looking Good EP release party! How excited are you? How excited am I? We can’t really gauge that well on text so let’s not even try.
For all you Angelenos, here’s the last exit sign:

Don’t forget: All ages, BYOB, BBQ at 7, NKOTB, ABCDEFG.
And for everyone else: Our interview with Jon Hershfield at IsGoodRadio.com is up and it’s really good. We played tracks off of Looking Good and performed a few songs via acoustic guitar, drums and accordion. A few songs are up on our MySpace, including our special parred-down rendition of Iron Maiden’s “The Trooper.” Yes!!! We also shared with Jon the secrets of our origin, our songwriting process and “healthy tension,” and explored Melissa’s inexplicable affinity for all-female tribute bands. Listen to it here or download the podcast here.
Lastly, be the first T-shirt-wearer on your block to show off your band pride (of our band) by snagging up the first ever official THTG T-shirts! Available in asphalt and teal, which are just fancy ways of saying gray and blue!!! Check them out in our merch section, they look rad. Thanks to our even radder bassist Adam and my best friend Gloria Rautman who makes really amazing designs (www.knopkagraphics.com).
I think that’s it. Tim and I are gonna go practice and play with glue and soup cans, because that’s how we get ready for shows... If you have any last-minute questions – TOO BAD! No just kidding – e-mail us or check the site, it’s all there. See you soon.
Lots of love,
Melissa (and Tim)
