NEW EP PREVIEW THIS MONDAY, RELEASE PARTY THIS FRIDAY

Looking Good is almost ready and it’s sounding . . . good.

But if you can’t wait until this Friday to hear the new EP, we’ll be playing a special live sneak preview this Monday, March 30 on IsGoodMusic.com. John Hershfield will play a few tracks off “Looking Good” and also visit some golden oldies off the first CD. We’ll also be playing a short acoustic set. It sounds really nice and you can listen to it on your lunch break – unless your office computer doesn’t have a sound card or you’re an on-site construction worker, in which case you can check out the archived version just as easily when you get home. Also, it’s free! You can’t lose! Share the link and come listen.

Once that’s done, come party with us at Pehrspace:

By the way, it’s all ages, so yes, bring your 19-year-old cousin who’s in town on Spring Break. And if you’re down with free BBQ, we’ll have the grill fired up at 7 p.m. Everyone’s invited, but BYOB (we’re not a soup kitchen!)

Beyond that, I (Melissa) have got nothing else to say – I’ve been tweeting for THTG consistently for the past two weeks and it’s effectively drained me of all new ideas. Go check it out if you want to see where we’re at in the story (you don’t have to be on Twitter to read tweets) or just send us a shout -- twitter.com/thehardtoget

Six days to go.

COUNTDOWN TO LOOKING GOOD EP RELEASE...

12 days, 4 hours, Maybe like 14 minutes...

If we had the budget for live-feed video, it would show me (Melissa) sitting at Tim’s kitchen table, stuffing my face with coffee ice cream and drowning in spreadsheets and flyer designs. As we’re lacking this technology at the moment, here’s an update, text-style, in three points:

1. We have a last-minute ACOUSTIC show today (Monday) at Bordello
Tim can’t make this gig so it’s just going to be me and Adam.  Yes, I take requests.

Melissa and Adam of THTG
Monday, March 23 at 9 p.m.
Bordello
901 E. 1st Street, LA, CA
$5

2. We YouTubed!
Over the past two months we’ve secretly been collecting footage from our shows.  They came out kinda cool, so we’re putting them up. Three songs: Buzzkill, She is a Jet (from our forthcoming EP!) and Shake. Comment, rate and share with everyone!

"Buzzkill" live at The Viper Room, 3/4/09

"She is a Jet" live at 2nd Street Jazz, 2/20/09

"Shake" live at the Unknown Theater, 2/13/09

3. Even more photos

In case you haven’t met us in real life yet and you’re still on the fence about whether or not we’re actually attractive, hopefully this will help push you over to a side! Live and promo shots courtesy of the authentically attractive Angie Craft and Jeremy Lee. You can share these too, as long as you promise not to scribble naughty bits on us in Photoshop.

More on the way about our IsGood interview and performance next Monday, March 30 and the EP release on Friday, April 3. But I gotta go take a nap first.

THTG NEWSLETTER VOL. 1

Hey guys:

Tim and I wanted to wait until we had a lot of news before we sent out our first newsletter. We did a great job with that . . . and now there’s probably way too much to tell you. Oh well. Let's try bullets first:

Got all that? Great! Now you can get back to your YouTubed episode of Green Acres. For those of you still with me:

The Viper Room show
If you live in LA, this is basically the long and short of it. It'll probably be the last time we play before April because we're still *&%#ing busy with recording. We're playing a high energy set with the massively talented Adam Pompey on bass. What else can I tell you? Just come!
Weds., March 4th at 8 p.m.,
$5
8852 W. Sunset in West Hollywood

P.S. 8 p.m. is a real-time 8 p.m., not an LA 8 p.m. of 8:35. And the earlier you arrive the better your odds of finding a close meter.

“Looking Good” EP
We’ve spent the last two months recording another EP. That's why we're always tired. Thankfully we're almost done, and we're really excited. Here's what's on it:

1. Looking Good
2. The Verge
3. Good At That
4. Dance Serene
5. She Is A Jet

USA Mike is mixing and doing awesome, as usual. It sounds kind of different from our last release, because we put in a whole bunch of new stuff -- acoustic guitar, violin, accordion and that fourth one is a samba song. I imagine that sitting down and listening to this EP all the way through will be like the next best thing to hiring an invisible orchestra to hang out with you for 20 minutes. Because in real life that would be kind of expensive.

Interview and in-studio performance on IsGoodMusic.com -- Monday, March 30 at Noon
DJ John Hershfield has this great site where he picks LA bands he likes and invites them to play on his show. We get to play tracks off the new EP and also perform songs live, and we get to talk about ourselves! We haven't come up with a set yet so if there's a song of ours your itching to hear live and acoustic, send us an e-mail (theband@thehardtoget.com)

EP release party -- Save the date! -- Friday, April 3rd at Pehrspace
325 Glendale Blvd
Los Angeles (Echo Park), CA 90026
It's kind of hard to find, but that's the way hidden treasures are. Visit their site for decent directions: http://www.pehrspace.org/contact/index.html

We're going to be playing with some really great bands and good friends: The Christopher Walk-Ins, The Break-Ups and The Active Set. And in case you're wondering, no: being a "The" band is not a prerequisite to sharing a bill with us. Possible BBQ beforehand…we’ll keep you posted.

TheHardToGet.com is our real, actual Web site
Go check it out. More coming on it, including the photos we recently took at Tim's house.

Photos we recently took at Tim's house
We were lucky enough to have the very spirited, hard-working Angie Craft on board as our photo director, wardrobe tech, locations manager and fluffer. Somehow she was able to get us to take taking photos seriously, which still makes me marvel. We'll be debuting her work soon on TheHardToGet.com. Meanwhile, you can see one or two samples on our . . .

Facebook
OK Tim, you may not be into it yet -- or ever -- but I live and die by status updates. I'm not condoning my behavior, but whatever. We're on Facebook! Please be a fan if you're on there too: http://tinyurl.com/dd984j. You can also follow us on twitter -- our name is thehardtoget, as it would be.

OK, I think we're all up to date now. Are you stoked yet?

THTG Go!
